More like a sister

At 7:10am every weekday, the phone would ring. It was Vicki. Even though we didn't have anything in particular to say, we would drink our coffee, laugh and tell each other our plans for the day. It was comforting to know that once Keaton got off to school, my dearest friend would be calling to say good morning. Over time, I realized that Vicki was so much more than a "girlfriend" to me. I am an only child who never experienced having a sibling, especially an older sister. Vicki became my "sister" in spirit. Our birthdays, being only a day apart, were usually spent celebrating for the whole week, and sometimes going to the beach. Vicki would hate me for saying this, but even my dog Bear is going to miss her. I love you Vicki. You will be part of my heart forever.
