Wendy, I was so sorry to learn of your father's passing. I will always remember your Dad for the his smile, and for how caring and supportive he was. During my first year in Air Force Basic Training, then while stationed in Mississippi and Japan, a week didn't go by that a letter, newspaper clippings or photos didn't arrive in the mail to me with words of encouragement from your dad. I don't know how I would have gotten beyond the loneliness of being so far away without Mr. Eckert. May you and your family find peace and comfort in knowing that his loss is felt by all who knew and loved him.
