Ronald J. Wulterkens, 62, of Sellersville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 7, 2011, in Coatesville VA Medical Center, Caln Township. He was the husband of Pamela M. (Weidemoyer) Wulterkens for 32 years.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Leo and Deolinda (Medeiros) Wulterkens.
Mr. Wulterkens served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later in the U.S. Air Force Reserves at Willow Grove Naval Air Station. His military career spanned 27 years.
For 11 years, Ron worked as an animal lab technician at Merck, West Point, before retiring in 2011. Prior to that, he was employed by John Evans & Sons, Lansdale; Jet Plastica, North Wales and Hatfield; and the U.S. Gauge Division of Ametek, Inc., Sellersville.
Mr. Wulterkens had been a member of the American Legion Nase-Kraft Post 255, Sellersville.
He was a long-time member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where he had served as an usher.
In his spare time, Ron loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.
In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his two daughters: Amanda L. Lee, and her husband, Frank, of Bear, Delaware; and Colleen T. Wulterkens, of Sellersville; a brother, Robert Wulterkens, of Tampa, Florida; two sisters: Dory Vincent, and her husband, William, of East Amherst, New York; and Sandra Wulterkens, of West Virginia; and his father-in-law, Robert I. Weidemoyer, of Sellersville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Wulterkens, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 17, 2011, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M.
Interment with military honors will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ron’s name to The ALS Association, Development Department, 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 250, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301. Contributions may also be sent to VA Medical Center, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Attn: Voluntary Service (135), Coatesville, PA 19320, making checks payable to "Department of Veterans Affairs" and placing "In Memory of Ronald J. Wulterkens" in the memo line.
