Steven “Steve” Joseph Wise, 72, of Sellersville, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in the Peter Becker Community, Harleysville.
He was the beloved husband of Linda (Krout) Wise for 49 years.
Born in Sellersville, Steve was the son of the late Emory and Eleanor (Laverick) Wise.
Steve attended Pennridge High School, graduating in 1970.
After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving his country. He was stationed with the USS Plymouth Rock as a Fire Controlman (FTG2) and was deployed throughout the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
Following his service in the Navy, Steve returned home and married Linda, his high school sweetheart.
He then began working for the PLCB with his brother Ron, advancing to a management position and, eventually, retiring in 2008.
In his free time, he was a volunteer fireman with the Sellersville Fire Department, following in his father’s footsteps. Steve was also an active member of the American Legion Nase-Kraft Post 255, of Sellersville.
He was happiest when he was reading a good book, baking cookies, fishing with his sons, and spending time in nature. Above all else, he loved his family deeply and cherished his time spent with them.
His infectious smile, laughter, and sense of humor will be truly missed.
Steve will be dearly missed and is survived by his loving wife Linda; his three children, Jonathan, Nathan, and Benjamin (Meaghan); his siblings, Kathy (Daryl) and Chris (Chip); and his niece and goddaughter, Kelly (Earl); along with extended family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brothers, David and Ron.
All are invited to visit with Steve’s family from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Friday, December 6, in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 445 N. Main St, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 PM.
Interment will follow in Kellers Church Cemetery, Perkasie.
