Alfred "Poppy" Wesley

Alfred "Poppy" Wesley, 92, of Sellersville, formerly of Quakertown, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township.
Al was born on December 19, 1918, in West Grove, Pennsylvania.
He was a long-time resident and friend of LifePath, Sellersville.
"Poppy," as he was affectionately known, was a long-time, hard-working employee at Life Span, Quakertown, where his co-workers valued and appreciated his dedicated work ethic.
He was a 30-year member of Bethel Baptist Church, East Rockhill Township.
Alfred was considered by many to be "the life of the party" and was fun to be around. He was entertaining, had a great sense of humor, and was a good conversationalist.
Al was a great singer and dancer and loved to show off his skills at parties and dances. He was very much a "people person," being very appreciative of any extra effort that was given to him.
He enjoyed going out to eat, attending church services, sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful weather, going to the park, watching movies at theaters and at home, and playing games, especially BINGO. He also loved John Wayne movies and watching Phillies baseball.
He touched many lives and will be missed by all.
Mr. Wesley is survived by a great-niece, Kathleen Warren, of Lansdowne, whom he loved very much.
His funeral service will be held Monday morning, August 8, 2011, at 11:00 AM in Bethel Baptist Church, 754 East Rockhill Road, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call at the church Monday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Interment will be in Sellersville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alfred’s name to LifePath, 3500 High Point Boulevard, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
