Edward E. Weaver

January 29, 1931 — December 22, 2013

Edward E. Weaver, of Quakertown, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Kopack) Weaver. They would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on January 3. He was 82.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Amos P. and Emma (Vandegrift) Weaver.

Ed was a graduate of Bob Jones University, Greenville, South Carolina.

Mr. Weaver had been a missionary, serving in the Belgian Congo from 1956-1961 and in Kenya from 1964-1978.

He had attended Bethel Baptist Church, Sellersville for many years, serving as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and Sunday School Department Head. Ed had also been actively involved in the Birthday Card Ministry.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Weaver is survived by his children: Timothy E. Weaver and his wife, Jean, of Morrow, Ohio; Joel D. Weaver and his wife, Maryann, of Kenya; Ruthellen Bonomo and her husband, Robert, of Quakertown; Margie Welsh and her husband, John, of Quakertown; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Laura Emery, and her husband, Larry, of Elverson.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” Weaver; a brother, Robert Weaver; and a sister, Jean Gallagher.

His memorial service will be held on Friday, December 27, at 7:00 PM in Bethel Baptist Church, 754 East Rockhill Road, Sellersville 18960. There are no calling hours.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Weaver’s name to Bethel Baptist Church Faith Promise Missions at the church address above.
