Ruth Watts

December 18, 1921 — January 21, 2022

It is with much sadness that we share the passing of Ruth Watts, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the Lutheran Community at Telford. She had just celebrated her 100th birthday in December 2021.

Ruth was the widow of Joseph Watts, the love of her life, who passed away in September 2017. They were happily married for 73 years.

Born in Sellersville, she was a daughter of the late Luther S. and Clara M. (Scheetz) Besch.

Mrs. Watts is survived by her two daughters: Margaret (Kurt) Siemon and Linda (Lamar) Haupt; three beloved grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A life-long member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Sellersville, Ruth, with her husband, was actively involved in many church functions.

Ruth and Joe also volunteered with the Busy Bees Club for the Blind; Pennridge FISH, the local food pantry; and Meals on Wheels.

An avid cook and baker, Ruth had also enjoyed reading, sewing, and knitting. Later in life, she and Joe became dedicated walkers with a local walking club, and, after a series of lessons, they loved to go ballroom dancing with friends.

On behalf of Ruth, the family would like to give a special thank you to the numerous caregivers and hospice staff who so lovingly cared for her.

Services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth’s name may be made to St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
