Alfred Watson

June 18, 1931 — February 12, 2017

Alfred Watson, of Perkasie, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017, at his residence. He was 85.

He was the beloved husband of the late T. Dianne (Kern) Watson, who died in 2003.

Born in Cornwall (Lebanon County), he was the son of the late John J. and Clara (Marinchin) Watson.

Mr. Watson had been employed as a plant manager at the former Landis Meat Company, Quakertown. Prior to that, he had also worked at the former Charles J. Fehl Meat Packing Company, Blooming Glen, as a mechanic at North Penn Transfer, Lansdale, and as a parts driver for NAPA, in both Perkasie and Quakertown.

A member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Hilltown, Mr. Watson had previously attended Peace Lutheran Church, Hagersville.

A hard worker, Al had loved spending his free time with family and friends.

Mr. Watson is survived by his children, A David Watson, Jr. of Sellersville; Deborah A. Robbins, of Elkton, MD; Robert D. Watson, of Perkasie; and R. Scott Watson, and his wife, JoAnn, of Quakertown; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by six siblings.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 16, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Watson’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
