Pauline M. Walker, of Pottstown, formerly a long-time resident of Perkasie, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 2, 2016 at her residence in Manatawny Manor. She was 84.
She was the beloved wife of the late Wilbert L. Walker, who died in 1992.
Born in Perkasie, she was the daughter of the late Franklin T. and Florence M. (Benfield) Fretz. Pauline was a 1950 graduate of Sell-Perk High School. She later studied music at the former West Chester State College.
Pauline had been employed for over 33 years at the former U. S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., Sellersville. She had also assisted her husband with the running of the family farm, Walker’s Organic Acres, Perkasie.
Mrs. Walker was a lifelong member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where she had been the organist for nearly 50 years. She also served as choir director for many years.
A gifted musician, Pauline was a long-time member of the Lehigh Valley chapter of the American Guild of Organists.
Pauline was a passionate Philadelphia Phillies fan. She also enjoyed collecting bells and doing word puzzles. She had traveled extensively, including trips to South America, Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her two daughters, Martha H. Butler and her husband, Brian, of Cincinnati, OH; Claudine “Deanie” Rathgeber and her husband, Todd, of Pottstown; five grandchildren, Sean Butler and his wife, Alison, of Long Beach, NY; Jeffrey Butler and his husband, Andy, of Astoria, NY; Brianne Butler, of Cincinnati; Christopher Rathgeber; and Kevin Rathgeber, both of Pottstown; and a great-grandson, Braden Walker Butler, Long Beach, NY.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 7, in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Ave., Perkasie, PA 18944, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at the address above.
