Clifford W. "Cliff" Tice

June 12, 1926 — March 8, 2011

Clifford W. "Cliff" Tice, 84, a long-time resident of Sellersville, passed away Tuesday, March 8, at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was the beloved husband of Helen L. (Britsch) Tice. They had celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in October.

Born in Perkasie, he was the son of the late H. Darwin and Anna Pearl (Willauer) Tice. Cliff was a 1944 graduate of Sell-Perk High School, where he played football and was a member of other athletic teams.

A World War II veteran, Mr. Tice served with the 1st and 6th U.S. Marine Divisions in the Pacific and China. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

Following his return, Cliff had worked at Schulmerich Carillons, Sellersville. He later was employed for 38 years as a supervisor at American Olean Tile, Lansdale, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, where he had been a past president of the Silver and Gold Club. Mr. Tice also tutored children in math for 16 years at St. Agnes Catholic School.

A member of the American Legion Nase-Kraft Post 255, Sellersville, he was also a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League, Central Bucks Detachment #636 and a past member and marksmanship instructor at the Branch Valley Fish, Game, and Forestry Association of Perkasie. He was a member of Generations of Souderton.

After the war, Cliff played with the Sell-Perk Greenjackets football team. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Tice is survived by his children: Paul C. Tice and his wife, Carol A. Tice, M.D., of Coopersburg; Barbara A. Myers and her husband, James, of Blooming Glen; three grandchildren: Randall Myers and his wife, Sara, of Quakertown; Thomas Myers and his partner, Sheena, of Perkasie; Jonathan Tice, of Coopersburg; and a great-granddaughter, Skylar Myers.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Darwin W. Tice, and an infant brother, James Tice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 18, at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville 18960. Family and friends may call at the church Friday morning, from 9:00 AM until time of Mass.

Interment with military honors will follow in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Sellersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Catholic Church at the address above or the Marine Corps League of Pennsylvania, Inc., Central Bucks Detachment #636, P.O. Box 1372, Doylestown, PA 18901.
