Elaine Irene Thomas

Elaine Irene Thomas, a lifelong resident of Sellersville, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Pennsburg Manor, Pennsburg. She was 88.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jacob C. Thomas for 56 years until his death in 2013.

Born in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Irene (Raynor) Breneisen. Elaine was a 1953 graduate of Sell-Perk High School.

Mrs. Thomas had been employed as a school bus driver by the Pennridge School District for 28 years, retiring in 2004.

Formerly a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Sellersville and St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ridge Valley, Elaine was currently attending Morning Star Fellowship.

An avid fan of Philadelphia professional sports teams, especially the Phillies and the Eagles, Elaine had also enjoyed playing Bingo. She adored her many cats, but she most loved spending time with her family.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her four children: Kathy Thomas, of Genesee, PA, Kevin Thomas and his wife, Diane, of Macungie, Glenn Thomas and his wife, Barb, of Sellersville, and Gayle Mitzel and her husband, Keith, of North Richland Hills, TX; six grandchildren: Candis, Venessa, Krista, Shane, Justin, and Brittany; eight great-grandchildren: Ty’Shawn, Emme, Aidan, Avery, Everett, Addison, Everleigh, and Griffin; and a great-great-grandchild, Nico.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence “Berk” Breneisen, and a sister, Joyce Miller.

Her Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 10, at Morning Star Fellowship, 2788 Geryville Pike, Pennsburg, PA 18073, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
