Kathryn Elizabeth (Knox) Leary Tedesco, of Quakertown, passed away Saturday morning, February 2, 2013 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of Daniel Tedesco for 35 years and the late Frank Leary. She was 82.
Born in Abington, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Dopp) Knox.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Tedesco had owned and operated the former D & K Disposal, of Quakertown.
An avid reader, Kas was also a talented seamstress. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tedesco is survived by her three daughters: JoAnn Caldwell and her husband, Phil, of Horsham; Kathleen Grayson and her husband, Robert, of Manahawkin, NJ; Susan Seifert, of Quakertown; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Susan Sams, of Roslyn; and two step-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Knox, Jr.
Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 9, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Saturday afternoon at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of service.
Interment will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in memory of Kas may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center for Lung Cancer Research and mailed to the Office of Institutional Advancement, Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
