Beulah W. Taylor, 91, of Sellersville, formerly a long-time resident of Perkasie, entered into rest early Saturday morning, November 8, at Clare Bridge of Montgomery, North Wales. She was the wife of Walter A. Taylor for 38 years, until his death in 1980.
Born in Perkasie, she was a daughter of the late William B. and Florence C. (Gerhart) Wenhold.
Upon her 1935 graduation from Sell-Perk High School, Mrs. Taylor had been employed in the office of Perkasie Hosiery Silk Mills, Perkasie for several years.
A long-time, dedicated employee of both the Sell-Perk and Pennridge School Districts, she was the chief administrative assistant for four consecutive school superintendents, serving a total of 33 years until her retirement in 1982. Also, for 18 years, she was the secretary to the Pennridge School Board, retiring in 1985. She later worked part-time in her son and daughter-in law’s business, the Nut Kettle, of Peddler’s Village, Lahaska.
She was a life-long member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where she had volunteered as a Sunday School teacher and had sung in the choir.
A talented pianist, Mrs. Taylor enjoyed music, reading, walking and delighted in the delicate beauty of butterflies. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, friend and an especially loving “Nana” to her cherished grandson, Brian.
She was an independent, strong-minded woman, who possessed an unerring sense of style and class.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her two sons: William W. Taylor, Sellersville; Robert W. Taylor and his wife, Patti, Buckingham; a grandson, Brian R. Taylor and his wife, Stephanie, Newtown; a brother, William W. Wenhold, Sellersville; a sister, Grace Wenhold, Perkasie; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Wenhold and two sisters, Pearl Moyer and Edna Hoff.
Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 13 at 12:00 PM in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19 South Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA 18944, where family and friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at the address above.
