Mary Alice Summerville, 91, of Sellersville, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township.
She was the beloved wife of the late Larry D. Summerville for 27 years until his death in 2005.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Antonio B. and Silvina (Barata) D’Almeida. Mary Alice was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School for Girls.
Employed as an accountant for her entire professional career, Mary Alice had worked at WIBG Radio, Lafayette Hills, PA, at a Washington D.C. television station, and with a building contractor, also in Washington D.C.
Mrs. Summerville was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville.
As a member of the Pennridge Senior Center, Mary Alice had volunteered as a receptionist.
Gifted with artistic talent, Mary Alice had enjoyed painting. She was also an avid gardener and reader. She had traveled extensively, including trips to Germany, Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, Portugal, and England. Always ready to face a challenge, Mary Alice was eager to try new experiences, from skiing to playing tennis.
Mrs. Summerville is survived by her sister, Mary MacGregor, of Quakertown; two nieces: Diane Caplan, of Quakertown, and Susan Holland (Tom); three nephews: David MacGregor, of Quakertown, Charles MacGregor (Jean), of Andalusia, and Robert DeAlmeida (Joyce); two great-nieces: Andrea Dunning (Gary) and Valerie Schulz (Paul), both of Perkasie; three great- great-nephews; three great-great nieces; and two great-nephews-in-law.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Antonio DeAlmeida, and his wife, Lydia, and a brother-in-law, Charles MacGregor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, October 1, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, with a visitation from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
