John H. Stull

June 11, 1927 — September 26, 2023

John H. Stull, a lifelong resident of Sellersville, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at his residence in Hidden Meadows on the Ridge, Sellersville, PA. He was 96.

He was the beloved husband of Dorothea (Schlipf) Stull for nearly 64 years until her death in 2022.

Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Elmer and Bertha (Kober) Stull. He was a graduate of Sell-Perk High School.

A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Stull had served during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

John was employed for many years at the former U. S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., Sellersville, where he repaired airplane gauges, retiring in 1990. He had also worked at the former Rolle Manufacturing Co., of Lansdale. As a young man, he had driven truck delivering livestock.

Mr. Stull was a long-time member of St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sellersville.

He was a member of the Sellersville Moose-Lodge 1539 and the Perkasie Owls Club-Nest 1224.

A talented baseball player as a young man, John became an avid bowler in his later years, participating in a weekly bowling league. With his wife, he had enjoyed many bus trips and cruises over the years, along with casino excursions and horse racing. Listening to music from the Big Band era was always enjoyable as were the challenges of solving his word search puzzle books.

Mr. Stull is survived by his three daughters: Linda Davis and her husband, James, of Perkasie, Lisha Kratz and her husband, David, of Harleysville, and Beth Rice and her husband, Randy, of Cary, IL; seven grandchildren: Sean Murphy, Lori Culbertson, Steven Kratz, Kyle Murphy, Jennifer Rice, Ryan Rice, and Julia Rice; four step-grandchildren: Dan Davis, Kelly Tachie-Mensen, Amanda Landis, and James Cody Davis; two great-grandchildren, Caelan Culbertson and Gavin Culbertson; and eight step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Bertha Jones and Janet Svoboda.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his five sisters: Pauline Yoder, Geraldine Solliday, Evelyn Detweiler, Elma Benner, and Shirley Hartzell.

No services are currently scheduled.
