Patricia B. Strohl, of Souderton (Hilltown Township), passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Abington Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of James R. Strohl for 57 years. She was 75.
Born in Croydon, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Eva (Cockett) Earnest. Pat was a 1956 graduate of Pennridge High School.
Mrs. Strohl had spent her professional career as a secretary for several area civil engineering companies, including Eckert & Malone, of Sellersville and Boucher & James, of Doylestown. She retired from Showalter & Associates, of Chalfont.
Pat had been a member of Good Shepherd Church, Hilltown, where she had served on the Vestry.
Mrs. Strohl had been a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Priscilla Chapter #64, of Souderton. She had also been active with the White Shrine of Jerusalem, of Lansdale, and a Past Matron of Reliance Chapter #503 (OES), of Souderton. Pat had just recently received her 50 year OES membership pin.
A member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #471, of Sellersville, Pat had also been a member of the Cedarettes of the Order of the Tall Cedars, of Friendship Forest #146, of Quakertown.
Mrs. Strohl had also volunteered with the Pennridge Greenjackets Midget Football Association from 1976-1979.
With her husband, Pat had traveled the world, journeying to 57 different countries on all seven continents. She loved to cook and bake for her family and also enjoyed cake decorating, quilting, and cross stitch.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Strohl is survived by her two sons: Keith Strohl and his wife, Susan; Todd Strohl and his wife, Melissa; six grandchildren: Julie, Jessica, Candice, Patrick, Krislyn, and Wyatt; two great-grandchildren, Serena and Molly; and her Bengal cat, “Kenya.”
She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Strohl, and a brother, Christopher Erb.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday or from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Sunday, January 12, at the funeral home.
Entombment will be conducted privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Strohl’s name to Good Shepherd Church, P.O. Box 132, 1634 Hilltown Pike, Hilltown, PA 18927.
