Virginia M. Smith, a long-time resident of Perkasie, died Saturday, July 4, at her residence. She was 94.
She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth R. Smith for nearly 50 years, until his death in 1992.
Born in Nazareth, she was the daughter of the late Lewis S. and Jennie Mae (Keiper) Wolfe. She was the valedictorian of Nazareth High School, Class of 1937. In 1941 Ginny graduated from Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.
Over the years, Mrs. Smith would continue her education, earning an Associate degree in Liberal Arts from Bucks County Community College in 1978 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Records Administration from Temple University in 1981.
Mrs. Smith had been employed as a medical records administrator for 23 years at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township, retiring in 1986.
She was a long-time, active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where she had been involved with the Women of the Church.
An avid collector of bells, Ginny had also loved traveling with her husband, family, and friends on trips from the Poconos to international destinations. She and her husband had also shared an interest in researching genealogy.
Mrs. Smith especially loved spending time with her four grandsons and had enjoyed traveling with them as well.
She is survived by her three children: Carol A. Jurin and her husband, Ivan; Linda S. Garcia and her husband, James, all of Perkasie; Ronald K. Smith and his wife, Nancy, of Sellersville; four grandsons: Greg Frederick, of Doylestown; Kent Jurin, of Perkasie; R. Kyle Smith and his wife, Jennifer, of Harleysville; and Blair A. Smith and his wife, Laurel, of High Point, NC; and two great-grandchildren: Austin K. Smith and Whitney L. Smith.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lewis H. Wolfe.
Her Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 9, in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19 South Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA 18944, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at the address above.
