Pauline Smith, 82, formerly a 60-year resident of Sellersville, entered into eternal rest on May 18, 2011, at her residence in Telford. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Smith, Jr., for 35 years until his death in 1983.
Born in Freeland, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Simeon and Anna (Osadchuck) Onulak. She was a 1946 graduate of Mahanoy City High School.
She and her husband were married at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Mahanoy City, in 1948.
Pauline had been employed as a production supervisor for the Pittman Corporation, in Sellersville and Harleysville, retiring in 1990 after 31 years of service.
Mrs. Smith was a long-time member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville.
In her spare time, Pauline enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, playing pinochle, and attending live theatre. A member of the Red Hat Society of Lansdale, she also loved to go out with her 12 friends (the "GG" Girls) for a monthly lunch.
She is survived by her three children: Patricia Kelley and her husband, Leonard, of Telford; Kathleen Lindsay and her husband, John, of Sellersville; John J. Smith, III, and his wife, Beth, of North Wales; four grandchildren: Heather Lindsay, and her partner, Rafael DaSilva, of Richlandtown; Nicholas Lindsay, of Sellersville; Joshua Smith, and Courtney Smith, both of Quakertown; a brother, Theodore Onulak, of Edison, NJ; and a sister, Catherine Maziekas, of Secaucus, NJ.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Mary Rychalsky, Millicent Ciszek, Anna Bobal, and an infant sister, Sophie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 11:00 AM in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call Saturday morning, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery, Sellersville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Pauline’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
