Raymond W. Smith, Jr., of Sellersville, formerly of Bedminster and Quakertown, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. He was just a few days short of his 89th birthday.
He was the beloved husband of Vilma L. (Gonzalez) Smith for 43 years.
Born in Hilltown Township, he was the son of the late Raymond W., Sr. and Elizabeth A. (Scholl) Smith. He attended Sell-Perk High School through the 10th grade.
Mr. Smith had been employed in the shipping department of Georgia-Pacific, in King of Prussia for 38 years, and, later, with Trumbauer’s Lawn and Recreation, Inc., of Quakertown, for 23 years.
Ray was formerly a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 1539, Sellersville.
As a younger man, Ray had enjoyed snowmobiling. He also liked watching baseball, football, and NASCAR.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by his children: Thomas Smith and Linda McGourney; a step-daughter, Donna Shawler; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, “Bella.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters: Myrtle V. Delp, Dorothy E. Wenhold, and Ethel B. Leatherman.
