Margaret E. (Fleisher) Sherwood

Margaret E. Sherwood, of Quakertown, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013, in Genesis Healthcare, Quakertown Center. She was the wife of the late Kenneth M. Sherwood for 53 years until his death in 1990. She was 98.

Born in Julian (Centre County), she was the daughter of the late James and Frances (Swisher) Fleisher.

Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Sherwood had also been employed as a cook for over ten years at K-Mart in Allentown.

Margaret enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and doing crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Sherwood is survived by her children: Constance L. Tompkins and her husband, Robert, of Quakertown; Nelson Sherwood and his wife, Barbara, of New Tripoli; five grandchildren: Jeffrey Tompkins and his wife, Renée, of Quakertown; Angela J. Clymer and her husband, Barry, of Quakertown; Rachel Koder, of Pennsburg; Benjamin Sherwood and his wife, Francesca, of Slatington; Amy Marie-Allyson Johnson and her husband, Joshua, of Telford; six great-grandchildren: Ryan, Chadd, Heather, Stephanie, Megan, and Allyson; and a great-great- granddaughter, Kaydence.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. A visitation will be held Thursday at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.
