James Allen “Jamie” Shafer, of Sellersville, passed away early Sunday morning, April 14, as the result of an automobile accident. He was 32.
Born in Doylestown, he was the son of Russell W. and Dolores A. (Mace) Shafer, of Sellersville.
Jamie was a 1999 graduate of Pennridge High School. He later graduated from Bradley Visual Arts Academy, of York, PA.
Jamie had been self-employed as a graphic artist, owning and operating ArtManiac Media for ten years.
An outdoorsman, Jamie loved hunting and fishing. He had just returned from a fishing trip to Costa Rica, where he had caught his first sailfish and a dolphin fish. He also enjoyed trout fishing and bow hunting and had recently gotten his first deer.
He also liked camping, photography, attending Phish concerts, and cooking. As a passionate sports fan, Jamie was an especially avid Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers fan. He regularly attended Phillies Spring Training.
In addition to his parents, Jamie is survived by a sister, Cristine Shafer, of Sellersville; maternal grandfather, Robert Mace, of Bristol; paternal grandmother, Diane Shafer, of Jamison; and grandmother, Jeannette Conner, of Rebuk, PA.
Recently, he was preceded in death by his beloved Boston terrier, “Onyx.”
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 19, in Calvary Church, 820 Route 113, Souderton, PA 18964. Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at the church. In honor of Jamie’s love of sports, the family encourages everyone to wear a team jersey.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jamie’s name may be made to the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960 to help defray expenses.
