Charles J. Sell, 85, of West Rockhill Township, passed away Thursday evening, September 6, in Quakertown Center-Genesis Health Care, Quakertown. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth (Knitter) Sell, to whom he had been married for 53 years.
Born in Green Lane, he was a son of the late Harvey and Louisa (Seitz) Sell.
Mr. Sell was a US Army veteran, serving in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theaters during World War II. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars.
Mr. Sell was employed as a truck driver for the former Raymond Long Trucking Company, Tylersport. He later worked for many years with Tose Trucking Company, Bridgeport, retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
He was a Catholic.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Sell is survived by his two children: Carla M. Sell, Warrington; and Steven J. Sell, Telford; and three sisters: Fredericka Dieroff, Louise Bartholomew, and Glenna Dice.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
