Frances M. (Gergar) Schumacher

Frances M. Schumacher, 66, of Sellersville, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at St. Luke’s VNA Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township. She was the beloved wife of the late John M. Schumacher for 19 years. He died December 28, 2008. She had also been the wife of the late Ronald Kline.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Louis A. and Julia H. (Daniels) Gergar.

Fran was a graduate of Louis E. Dieruff High School, Allentown, and had completed one year of nursing school at Cedar Crest College, Allentown.

Primarily a homemaker, Fran had been most recently employed as a pharmacy technician at the former Eckerd Drug, Perkasie.

She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the Auxiliary of the American Legion Nase-Kraft Post 255, both of Sellersville.

Fran had enjoyed boating, vacationing in Las Vegas, surfing the internet, and activities at the Sellersville American Legion with her dear husband, John.

She is survived by her brother, Louis M. Gergar, and his wife, Ann, Waterford, Michigan; her children from a previous marriage: Eugene III and Daniel McFadden, and Christina (McFadden) Zadravecz; brother-in-law Michael Schumacher, and his wife, Aida, Flourtown; sister-in-law, Mary Patricia Winterer, Delray Beach, FL; several cousins; many friends; and her cat, "Precious."

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 12:00 Noon in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA. There are no calling hours.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 700 Horizon Circle, Suite 201, Chalfont, PA 18914, or to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
