Albert R. Schooley, 94, a long-time resident of Hilltown Township, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He was the beloved husband of Catherine M. (Quinn) Schooley for 49 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Albert C. and Emma (Kelly) Schooley.
After high school, Al attended trade school for training as an electrician. He later graduated from the Drexel Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Mr. Schooley had been employed as a civilian contracting officer for the U. S. Navy, in Upper Darby, where he met his wife. He continued working for the Navy at various locations until his retirement.
He had been a Mason.
Mr. Schooley was of the Protestant faith.
Al enjoyed growing up in Philadelphia and had fond memories of his school years, recalling the fine education that he had received. He loved reading, politics, engineering, and walking.
Mr. Schooley is survived by his beloved wife, whom he always called "my dearest Catherine."
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie.
