Janet (Buffenmyer) Schneider
April 10, 1932 — November 9, 2013
Janet E. Schneider, of Souderton, formerly a long-time resident of Sellersville and Perkasie, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at her residence. She was 81.
She was the beloved wife of Albert G. Schneider for 31 years.
Born in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late Wayne L. and Betty M. (Pritchard) Buffenmyer. Janet was a 1950 graduate of Sell-Perk High School.
Mrs. Schneider had been employed in the payroll department at the former EMICO, Dublin.
Janet was a former long-time member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Sellersville and, more recently, Calvary Church, Souderton.
An avid gardener, Janet had won the Sellersville Garden Club Award for best rock garden. She also enjoyed craft projects, such as sewing and knitting. Janet was recognized by Grand View Hospital for over 3,000 hours of service to their Nursery, for whom she knitted baby caps.
With her husband, Janet had enjoyed 87 bus trips throughout the United States, Canada, and Alaska.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Schneider is survived by her children, David Snyder and his wife, Corinne, of Souderton; Bonny Ann Snyder and her long-time companion, Bo Schuler, of Hatfield; and a grandson, Micah Snyder, and his wife, Katryna, of Bloomsburg.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 15, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Schneider’s name may be made to the Last Chance Ranch, 9 Beck Rd, Quakertown, PA 18951 or to Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, PA 18960.
