Shirley A. Santaniello, 52, of Sellersville, formerly of Lansdale, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 26, 2011. She was the beloved wife of George J. Santaniello. They were married for 31 years.
Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of Annette (Reckner) Nichols, Harleysville, and the late William Nichols. She grew up in Hatfield and was a 1977 graduate of North Penn High School.
Shirley had been employed as a certified nursing assistant and worked for Grand View Hospice and Home Care. Most recently, she had worked for Giant Food Stores, Perkasie.
She was a member of Calvary Church, Souderton. Shirley had been active with Dutch Country Players, Telford.
She had loved the beach, reading, painting, and playing guitar. Shirley had also been taking composition classes, with a concentration on story writing and children’s books.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her three daughters: Natalie Santaniello; Eden Santaniello, both of Sellersville; and Lynda Santaniello, of Perkasie; four grandchildren: Lillian, Gavin Isaac, Ashley, and Luke; two sisters: Jeanette White, Lansdale; Teresa Kotulka, and her husband, Stanley, State College; a brother, William F. Nichols, Jr., and his wife, Elaine, Schuylkill Haven; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen B. "Dolly" Orner, and a nephew, Dustin White.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011, at 11:00 AM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call Thursday morning, from 10:00 AM until time of service, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville.
If desired, memorial donations may be made in Shirley’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
