Mary Ellen (Peterson) Roth

Mary Ellen Roth, of Sellersville, formerly of Canton, MI, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was the beloved wife of the late Russell J. Roth, Sr. for 59 years until his death in 2012. She was 82.

She was born and raised in Rochester, New York.

Mrs. Roth was a homemaker.

An avid bridge player, Mary Ellen enjoyed playing at Generations, of Souderton and with the Duplicate Bridge Club, of Lansdale.

Mary Ellen also enjoyed cruising and travelling and accompanied her husband on his international work assignments, including three years in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

An excellent cook, she also enjoyed sewing, especially making Halloween costumes. She also loved dining out with family and friends.

Mrs. Roth is survived by her five children: Cynthia A. Mannes and her husband, Michael, of Towamencin; Russell J. Roth, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Milford Township; Gregg Roth and his wife, Elizabeth, of Marlborough Township; Frank Andrew Roth, and his wife, Kimberly, of South Lyon, Michigan; and Richard C. Roth; nine grandchildren: Emily Mannes; Kevin Mannes; Matthew Roth; James Roth; Caitlin Roth; Kelly Mannes; Russell J. Roth, III; Frank Roth; David Roth; two sisters: Carol Davis and Margie Coppola, both of Rochester, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 18, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will be conducted privately in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
