O dreamer, leave thy dreams for joyful waking,
O captive, rise and sing, for thou art free;
The Christ is here, all dreams of error breaking,
Unloosing bonds of all captivity.
- Rosa M. Turner
Marilyn E. Robison, of Sellersville, passed on suddenly at home on April 17, 2008. Her daughter was by her side. She was the wife of James C. Robison, who passed on the same date in 2002.
Born on April 22, 1939, in Hilltown, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mildred (Bonz) Hart.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Selena Robison, with whom she resided; and her grandson, Christopher Robison, of New Jersey.
She is also survived by her sister Barbara Obringer of Harleysville, and her brothers: Victor Hart, of Florida; George Hart, of North Wales; and Greg Hart, of Virginia. Also, her brothers-in-law and their wives: Gerry and Vicki Robison, of Dublin; Denny and Barbara Robison, of Perkasie; and Ron and Sue Thomson, of California. She also had many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in passing by her husband Jim and her son Ron.
Marilyn was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist. She truly loved her church and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
She was employed by Ametek, Inc. , US Gauge Division, Sellersville, for over 30 years as a lighting specialist. During that time she also served as a Girl Scout leader and also hosted inner-city children at her home through the Fresh Air Fund.
She loved being outdoors. She always enjoyed working outside in the yard and being in the sun. She took great pride in her gardens, yet always accepted compliments humbly.
Marilyn also loved to travel. She took many trips all over our country with her family. She loved the West, but her favorite places were closer to home. She enjoyed several trips a year to Longwood Gardens and to Gettysburg. As a member of the Friends of Gettysburg, she especially enjoyed their annual Remembrance Weekend.
She also truly loved Cape May, New Jersey. She visited there every summer since her childhood. Each visit included her walk from the end of the boardwalk to the sunken ship at Cape May Point. She loved to spend hours on the beach, just to be under the sun and by the ocean.
Marilyn was very dedicated to Native Americans and had great respect for their beliefs and way of life. She was also fascinated by ghost stories and haunted places, as well as the UFO phenomenon. She spent many hours studying and talking about these.
Her daughter, Selena, said that she and her Mom were good friends. They shared their home, both inside and out, with ten beautiful cats. They gave Marilyn and Selena many days of enjoyment, while teaching a life lesson of how to live in harmony. They are missing her greatly, especially Sammi, who is now without her mommy and best friend.
Selena would like us all to celebrate the life of her mother. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Selena said: “I am blessed and fortunate to have been able to be with her every day. I will miss her dearly, but I know she lives on, and will continue to guide me every day of my life.”
Services will be private.
