William H. Reppert, 80, of Woodbury, NJ, formerly of Sellersville, PA, passed away Friday, April 27, in Underwood-Memorial Hospital, Woodbury. He was the beloved husband of Myrna (Witmer) Reppert for 61 years.
Born in Emmaus, PA, he was a son of the late William and Edith (Taylor) Reppert.
Bill was a US Navy veteran, having served during the Korean War. While in the Navy, he graduated from the Aeronautical Academy in Oklahoma City, OK.
He was employed as an air traffic controller with the FAA at the Philadelphia International Airport for many years before retiring in 1981. He was also a talented flight instructor with Class II rating, multi-engine rating and commercial rating.
Mr. Reppert was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sellersville, PA. He was also a Mason; a member of the Quiet Birdmen of Philadelphia Hanger; the South Jersey Aero Club; and American Legion, Post 133, Woodbury.
Bill was an accomplished pilot, and he loved flying in his B Model Bonanza. He was most proud of receiving the Wright Brothers’ “Master Pilot Award”.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters: Donna Parsons and her husband, Dan, of Corbin City, NJ; JoAnne Batten and her husband, Vincent, of Richmond, VA; a granddaughter, Danielle Parsons, of Corbin City; a sister, Helen Derstine; and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Ogden and Loie Langley.
His funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, May 3, 2012, in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 910 Allentown Road, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call at the church Thursday morning from 11 am to time of service.
Interment with military honors will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to St. John’s Lutheran Church at the above address.
