Janet M. Raudenbush, a long-time resident of Sellersville, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014, in Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Township. She was 83.
Born in Quakertown, she was the daughter of the late Russell T. and Dorothy M. (Wagner) Raudenbush.
She was a 1948 graduate of Sell-Perk High School, where she had played basketball and softball.
Janet had been employed for 43 years as a drill press operator at the former U. S. Gauge Division, Ametek, Inc., Sellersville, retiring in 1992.
Miss Raudenbush was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Sellersville, where she had volunteered with the Prayer Chain.
She was formerly an infielder for the Pennsburg "Shamrocks," a local women’s fast pitch softball team.
Fascinated with airplanes, Janet enjoyed attending air shows. She also loved golfing and international travel. She enjoyed rooting for her favorite Philadelphia teams, the Eagles and the Phillies.
A devoted daughter and granddaughter, she took loving care of her grandmother and parents in their later years.
Janet is survived by her two brothers: R. James Raudenbush and his wife, Marilyn, of Dannemora, New York; R. Terry Raudenbush and his wife, Deborah, of Telford; and a sister, Beverly A. Raudenbush, of Alexandria, Virginia.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 14, in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 104 Green Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will be in Sellersville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
