Maria H. (Pedroso) Pontes

Maria H. Pontes, 87, of Souderton, formerly of Ambler, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009, in Abington Hospice at Warminster, Warminster Township. She was the wife of the late Adalberto R. Pontes, who died in 2002. They were married for 62 years.
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Duarte and Leonor (Pinto) Pedroso.
She and her husband came to the United States in 1967.
Mrs. Pontes was a homemaker. Previously, she had been a telephone operator in Portugal.
She was a Catholic.
Mrs. Pontes is survived by her three children: Anabela Lobo, and her husband, Carlos, of St. Augustine, Florida; John Pontes, and his wife, Jane, of Sellersville; and Teresa Mains, and her husband, John, of Doylestown; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pennsburg.
