Jane E. (Finley) Pontes

Jane E. Pontes, 73, of Sellersville, formerly of Perkasie, passed away in ManorCare Health Services, Bethlehem, on Friday, July 18, 2014. She was the beloved wife of John Pontes for 36 years.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Klingel) Finley. She was a graduate of Neshaminy High School, where she had swum on the synchronized swimming team.

Jane had been employed for many years in the deli department at the former Fox’s Food Market, of Perkasie, and prior to that at Acme Markets, in Warminster and Souderton.

A loving, caring, and compassionate woman, Jane loved to spend time with her family. She also loved to shop.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters: Colleen Ryan and her wife, Barbara Ocasio, of Sellersville; Maureen Ryan, of Allentown; Laureen Ryan, of Sellersville; a step-son, Nuno Pontes, of England; three grandchildren: Ryan Eyre, and his wife Jessica, of Fort Myers, FL; Nicholas Eyre, and his wife Christy, of New Mexico; Dominique Hagey, of Harleysville; and three great-granddaughters: Arianna; Adelynn; and Amanda.

Mrs. Pontes was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathleen Ryan in 2010 and Eileen Pontes in 2012.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, at the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 N. Main St., Sellersville, Pa. 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery, Sellersville.
