Eula F. Pettie, of Sellersville, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was 86.
She was the beloved wife of the late James H. Pettie, Sr. for 59 years until his death in 2013.
Born in Doylestown, Eula was the daughter of the late Alvin and Esther (Harvey) Fox.
Eula married Jim, the love of her life, at age 16 and spent 59 years devoted to him until his passing.
For decades, Eula and Jim ran a successful wholesale flower business while raising their large family. They then went on to create and cultivate a natural setting of indescribable beauty, including a space for family and friends to gather, host weddings, swim in the lake, and ride the trains.
Eula’s passions were food, gardening, and travel. Above all else, she loved her family deeply and cherished the time spent with them.
Eula will be dearly missed by her five children: Joseph Pettie (Heidi), Mary Haire (Bob), John Pettie, Lillian Schomaker (Tim), and Joyce Pettie; her 14 grandchildren; and 24 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Elmer Fox, Joye Bryan, Edith Hagey, and Dennis Fox (Shirley); along with her extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Eula was preceded in death by her son, James Pettie Jr., and her two siblings, Ruthie Peters and Alvin Fox.
