Ann J. (Meiers) Parker

May 28, 1927 — January 1, 2012

Ann J. Meiers Parker, 84, of Doylestown Township, formerly of Perkasie, passed away suddenly after a brief illness on Sunday, January 1, 2012, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Lee Parker.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Isabelle (Jameson) Meiers.

Ann was a graduate of Little Flower High School, Philadelphia. She later received her RN at Germantown Hospital School of Nursing.

She was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U. S. Army, serving stateside during the Korean War.

Mrs. Parker was later employed as a registered nurse at Children’s, Holy Redeemer and Germantown Hospitals, all of Philadelphia. She later worked for many years at Neshaminy Manor, Doylestown, until her retirement.

She was a Catholic.

Professionally, Mrs. Parker was a former member of the League of Nursing. She also had been active with the Bucks County Historical Society.

She enjoyed researching genealogy.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her three children: Barbara A. Monagle and her husband, Gerald, of Doylestown; Dr. Robert J. Parker , and his wife, Dr. Laurie Ann Parker, of New Orleans, LA; James Parker and his wife, Bridget, of Queens, NY; nine grandchildren: Ron, Brian, Jen, Patrick, Tim, Ryan, Jeff, Lisa, and Liam; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy; a son, Charles; two sisters: Mary Peters, Isabelle Smith; and a brother, Charles Meiers.

Services are private at the convenience of the family.
