Phyllis O’Donnell, 90, of the Rockhill Mennonite Community, Sellersville, formerly of Perkasie, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. O’Donnell for 55 years until his death in 1999.
Born in London, England, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Ellen (Jerome) Kent.
A corporal in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force, Phyllis was stationed in London from 1941-1945, from the Blitz up through V-E Day.
Married in England during the war, Mrs. O’Donnell came to the United States in 1957, settling in the Philadelphia area. The O’Donnells moved to Perkasie in 1987.
Phyllis had been employed for 15 years as a machine operator for the former Wyeth -Ayerst, in Malvern, before retiring in 1982.
Mrs. O’Donnell was a long-time parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville.
Phyllis was a member of the Pennridge Senior Center, Perkasie, and Generations (SAAC ) of Indian Valley, Souderton. She also volunteered at Grand View Hospital.
Mrs. O’Donnell is survived by her daughter: Maureen P. Rogers and her husband, Charles, of Worcester; three grandchildren: Nick Feuchtmayer; Caitlin O’Donnell; Rebecca O’Donnell; a sister, Patricia R. Irwin, of England; and a daughter-in-law, Cindy O’Donnell, of Newtown Square.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin D. O’Donnell, who died in 2007.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until 9: 45 a.m. Thursday morning at the church.
Interment will follow in the adjoining parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. O’Donnell’s name may be made St. Agnes Catholic Church at the address above.
