Jeremy D. “Jer” Nase, 31, a lifelong resident of Pennridge, lost his 20 year battle with Type I Diabetes on Saturday, May 17.
Born in West Rockhill Township, he was the son of Carol J. (Vollmerhausen) Nase, Perkasie and the late H. Michael Nase. Jeremy was a 1994 graduate of Pennridge High School, where he played intramural street hockey. A 2002 Honors Graduate of Slippery Rock University, he was a member of the Park Ranger Society.
He had been employed as a CAD Technician for several area companies, most recently for Eastern Chadrow and Associates, Warminster.
Jer was a fifth generation member of St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sellersville, where he sang in St. Michael’s Singers, Festival Choir and the Saints on the Hill. He was the current secretary of the Church Council, chairperson of the Stewardship Team, and an usher. In his youth he had sung in the Children’s Choir, performed skits during Bible School, and played in the Bell Choir.
An avid winter sports participant, he enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, and hockey. He was half-way through his certification training for ski patrol. A rabid Flyers fan, he was affectionately known as “Coach” to family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jer was also an excellent nature photographer.
He had a life-long interest in Earth sciences and was committed to environmentalism and the preservation of natural resources. He enjoyed reading the works of Aldo Leopold.
In addition to his mother, Jeremy is survived by a brother, Andrew M. Nase and his wife, Wendy, Sellersville; nephew, Isaac, Sellersville; grandmother, Ellenjane (Cressman) Nase, Telford; girlfriend, Jen Cope, Quakertown; his dog,” Lucky”, and several uncles and aunts.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 22, at 11:30 AM in St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening, May 21 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville and on Thursday morning at the Church, from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Sellersville Cemetery. All are invited to share memories of Jer at a luncheon reception in the Church Fellowship Hall following the burial.
