Eugene R. Nagele

April 22, 1936 — June 23, 2016

Eugene R. “Gus” Nagele, of Perkasie, entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 23, 2016. He was 80.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary I. (Jordan) Nagele until her death in 2001.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Bickley) Nagele. Gus grew up in Roxborough.

Mr. Nagele had been employed for 37 years as a machinist with the former Victory Metal, Plymouth Meeting. He had also worked for Tower Maintenance Services, Huntingdon Valley.

He was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hilltown.

A member of the Road Angels Car Club in Doylestown, Gus had loved to work on cars and had built his own street rod. He had also constructed a family getaway cabin in the Poconos.

Mr. Nagele is survived by his daughter, Mary E. Keeler; two grandchildren, Rachel Arnold and her husband Kyle; and Justin Shermer, all of Sellersville; and a great-grandson, Jayden Arnold.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Day, and two brothers, Karl Nagele and George Nagele.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Nagele’s name may be made to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, P.O. Box 31, Hilltown, PA 18927.
