Violet M. Moyer, a life-long resident of Sellersville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Rockhill Mennonite Community, West Rockhill Township. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward H. Moyer for 66 years until his death in 2005. She was 96.
Born in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Alberta (Small) Musselman.
Violet had been employed for many years at the former Jacques de Loux Sweater Factory, Sellersville and the former Granite Knitting Mill, Souderton, retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Moyer was a life-long member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Sellersville, where she had sung in the choir for 55 years and served on the Spiritual Life Committee.
An avid Phillies fan, Violet also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She also loved to cook and bake, especially pies.
Mrs. Moyer is survived by her two sons: John E. Moyer and his wife, Kathleen, of Peterborough, New Hampshire; Richard L. Moyer and his wife, Nancy, of Perkasie; three grandchildren: David Moyer and his wife, Stacey, of Sellersville; Jeffrey Moyer and his wife, Lindsay, of Red Hill; Emily Stokes and her husband, Marquise, of Quakertown; and five great-grandchildren: Nicolas; Lucas; Jaxon; Amelia; and Oliver.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Musselman.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 19, in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 104 Green Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call Wednesday at the church, beginning at 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will follow in Jerusalem Union Cemetery, (Almont) Sellersville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Scholarship Fund at the address above.
