Dorothy Frances Moskowitz, 88, of Allentown, formerly of Perkasie, passed away in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown, with her family by her side, on Friday, August 1, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Moskowitz for 58 years until his death in 2005.
Born in Northeast Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel Gallagher and the late Gertrude (Bender) Gallagher Norcross.
Dot had been employed by the Westinghouse Company, Philadelphia.
After their marriage, Dorothy and Walter moved to Perkasie, where they owned and operated the Esso Service Station on Route 313 for 40 years.
Following their retirement, they lived in the Pocono Mountains during the summer and Pharr, Texas in the winter.
Dot enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband. One of Dot's favorite pastimes was sail boating on Lake Nockamixon. She also had a special place in her heart for her poodles.
An avid bowler, Dorothy had always enjoyed league competitions. Most recently, she was the high score record holder of the electronic Wii Bowling at Phoebe Nursing Center, Allentown.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Gartland, and brothers, Charles, Joseph and her twin, Edward.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
