Beatrice L. Moore, 84, of Quakertown, formerly of Perkasie and Pottstown, passed away Saturday, September 20 at Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. She was the beloved wife of the late James S. Moore, Jr., who died January 21, 1981.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Harriet (Racken) Bortman.
A homemaker for most of her life, Mrs. Moore had been employed in sales for the Quakertown Fabric Store and Hess’s, both formerly of Quakertown.
She had been an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Souderton, and, prior to that, in Quakertown and Pottstown.
Beatrice enjoyed sewing, reading, crossword puzzles and studying the Bible.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter, Karen L. Malone, and her husband, Bob of Hilltown Township; one granddaughter, Erin MacDonough and her husband, Matt of Blandon, PA; one grandson, Ian Malone and his wife, Rachel of Macungie; one great-granddaughter, Eva Marynn MacDonough of Blandon; and three nephews and one niece. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Reinmiller and a brother, Rob Bortman.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday afternoon, October 12, at 3:30 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1037 Spur Road, Souderton, PA 18964.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the above address.
