Hilary R. Missimer

Hilary Richard Missimer, 75, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016, in Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. With the help of physicians at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, he had waged a long battle against multiple myeloma.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of H. Richard and Janet (Creswell) Missimer.
He was a 1959 graduate of Pottstown High School. He attended both Bucknell and West Chester Universities, earning a degree in sociology.
Rich was inducted into the U. S. Army at age 24 and assigned to Vicenza, Italy.
He loved listening to jazz and humorists, and he never lost his passion for knowledge and research.
He is survived by his sister, Peg, wife of Charles Crummy, of North Coventry, and his niece, Morgan Crummy.
Services and interment will be private.
