Elizabeth A. (Scholl) Smith Mills

May 15, 1909 — March 23, 2008

Elizabeth A. Smith Mills, 98, a former long-time resident of Perkasie, passed away Sunday morning, March 23, at her residence in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. She was the wife of the late Charles Mills and the late Raymond W. Smith, Sr.

Born in South Perkasie, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Andrew and Harriet (Althouse) Scholl.

Mrs. Mills was a homemaker her entire life. She also worked on the family chicken farm with her first husband.

She was a long–time member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where, until her death, she had been the oldest living member.

Mrs. Mills had been an active volunteer with Pennridge FISH and was also a member of the Pennridge Senior Center, Perkasie.

While she enjoyed crocheting and fishing, she most loved spending time with her beloved family.

Mrs. Mills is survived by her two daughters: Ethel B. Leatherman, Souderton; Dorothy E. Wenhold and her husband, Jackson, Hilltown Township; a son: Raymond W. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Phil, Sellersville; eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Benjamin Scholl, and his wife, Jean, Perkasie.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Myrtle V. Delp; a great-grandson, Jason Delp; a brother; and three sisters.

Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 27 at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Dill Avenue and Chestnut Street, Perkasie. Family and friends may call at the church Thursday morning, from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will be in St. Andrews Union Cemetery, Perkasie.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Mill’s memory to St. Andrew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, PO Box 257, Perkasie, PA 18944.
