Mary B. Miller, a long-time resident of Sellersville, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, in Independence Court, Quakertown. She was 93.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frederick E. Miller for 21 years until his death in 1999.
Born in Perkasie, she was the daughter of the late William and Ida (Beidler) Benfield. Mary graduated from Sell-Perk High School and would later graduate from the Grand View Hospital School of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Mrs. Miller had been employed for many years in the office of Dr. Richard Landau at Bux-Mont Urology, Sellersville.
She was a long-time member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie.
Active with the Lenape Chapter 339 Order of the Eastern Star, Mary also volunteered with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Sellersville Fire Department.
A voracious reader, often completing a book every two days, Mary was also an avid gardener, who loved to work in her flowerbeds. As a talented needlewoman, she loved to sew, often making many of her own clothes, and knitting baby caps and blankets for Grand View Hospital.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her son, Harry Renner; a sister, Martha Devine; five nieces; five nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Harvey Renner, Jr.; a brother, Daniel Benfield; and a sister, Margaret Nelligan.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 13, in St. Andrew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20 Dill Avenue, Perkasie, PA 18944, where a viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will follow in Sellersville Cemetery.
