Florence J. Merritt, of Sellersville, formerly of Marlton, NJ, Quakertown, and Royersford, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Stanley Merritt, who died in 1991. She was 80.
Born in Morristown, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Helena Grace (Fraser) Caldicott.
Florence received her R.N. from Wilmington General Hospital, Wilmington, DE. She had been employed as a pediatrics nurse at several area hospitals.
In her spare time, Florence liked to read and tend to plants and flowers. She practiced a healthy lifestyle and believed in the merits of alternative medicine.
Quiet, kind, and somewhat shy, Florence always saw the good qualities in everyone she met.
Mrs. Merritt is survived by her daughter, Laura Anglemoyer and her husband, Randy, of Sellersville; four grandchildren: Ryan Anglemoyer, of Quakertown; Chad Anglemoyer, of Quakertown; Kelsey Shook, of Sellersville; Erin Anglemoyer, of Sellersville; and a sister, Daisy Alward, of Woodbury, NJ.
Her services will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any local animal rescue shelter of one’s choice.
