Robert S. McDonough, Sr., of Hilltown Township, passed away suddenly Saturday, April 30, 2016. He was 69.
He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Larr) McDonough for over 30 years until her death in 2014.
Born in Abington, he was the son of the late Stewart N. and Lillian (Fitzgerald) McDonough. He was a 1964 graduate of Hatboro-Horsham High School.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. McDonough had been employed as a machinist and assembler for the EST Group, Hatfield. Previously, he had worked for Fischer & Porter, Warminster.
Bob enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to country music, and researching genealogy online. He also liked keeping in touch with loved ones on Facebook and spending time with Ron, his good friend and neighbor. Along with his wife, he had also enjoyed archery.
Mr. McDonough is survived by his children: Robert S. McDonough, Jr. and his partner, Angela Zitto, of Bonita Springs, FL; Jennifer Clement and her husband Wayne, of Claymont, DE; four grandsons: Tyler Clement, Zachary Clement, Connor McDonough, and Logan McDonough; a brother, David McDonough, and his wife Eileen; a sister, Betty Friel, and her husband Joseph; his former daughter-in-law, Heather McDonough, of Bonita Springs; and neighbor, Ron Cook.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved yellow Labrador, “Kota.”
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 9, in the Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
