Andrew J. Martin

Andrew J. Martin, of Sellersville, formerly of Oreland, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at his residence. He was 67.

He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Sefton) Martin for 26 years.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Andrew J., Jr. and Patricia (Connaghan) Martin. Andy was a 1966 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, Wyncote.

Mr. Martin was a proud veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in an artillery unit in Vietnam, where he was the recipient of a Bronze Star.

A tool and die maker, he had been employed by Fybroc Division-Met Pro Corporation and, prior to that, by D. D. Youells Machining, both of Telford.

Andy was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1539, Sellersville and the Telford VFW, Post 5308.

An excellent cook, Andy had also enjoyed golfing and watching football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. His other interests included NASCAR, the Phillies, and rock and roll music, in particular, Fleetwood Mac and Little Feat. He had also loved spending time at the family’s property in the Eagle Lake Community, Gouldsboro, in the Poconos.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step-daughter, Cynthia Hazelton, of Elkins Park; a son, Andrew J. Otis, of Wyalusing; two sisters, Susan Mary Vernitsky and her husband, Anthony, of Dresher, Patricia A. Pollock and her husband, Robert, of Fort Mill, SC; two nephews; and a niece.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas J. Martin.

His memorial service will be held at 11: 30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960, where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville.
