Mary Ann Marsh, formerly of Sellersville, Chalfont, and The Villages, Florida, passed away on Thursday, June 6, at Briarleaf Nursing Center, Doylestown. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles F. Marsh, who died in 1978. She was 89.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Don F. and Lizzette C. (Parker) Schlosser.
Mary Ann was a 1941 graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame, Villanova and a 1944 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a degree in journalism.
Mrs. Marsh had been employed for many years by the News Herald, Perkasie, the Souderton Independent, and Montgomery Publishing, Fort Washington. She retired in 1979.
She was a former member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, and St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Chalfont. After her relocation to Florida in 1979, she was a parishioner of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Lady Lake, Florida. Always a volunteer with all of her parishes, she was actively involved in the pro-life movement.
Mary Ann was a member of the former Pennridge Business and Professional Women.
Mary Ann enjoyed photography and gardening. After her retirement, she especially loved to travel, often internationally.
Mrs. Marsh is survived by her children: Charles E. Marsh and his wife, Linda, of Chalfont; Patricia C. Gruver, of Summerfield, Florida; Paul D. Marsh and his wife, Nanette, of Wrightsville; five grandchildren: Andrea N. Hertlein, of Doylestown; Brandon C. Marsh, of Chalfont; Megan Gruver, of New York, NY; Jeffrey Gruver, of San Francisco, California; James E. Marsh, U.S.A. F., Pensacola, Florida; and two great-grandchildren, Jenna and Nicole Hertlein.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Ronald D. Gruver.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 13, in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will be in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
