David M. Longacre

October 8, 1930 — November 19, 2021

David M. Longacre, formerly of Coopersburg and Sellersville, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021, in the Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. He was 91.

He was the husband of the late E. Mae (Frank) Longacre for 63 years until her death in April 2021.

Born in Richland Township, he was the son of the late David S. and Lottie M. (Mohr) Longacre. David was a 1947 graduate of Quakertown High School.

Mr. Longacre was a U. S. Navy veteran.

David had been employed as a foreman with the former Tubular Products Company, Souderton. He also had worked in the maintenance department for Univest Bank, Souderton. In addition, David had assisted Mae with mold design and pouring with their ceramic business.

The Longacres had been members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Coopersburg since 1996.

Once retired, David had particularly enjoyed square dancing with Mae, camping, and gardening. An avid card player, he had loved meeting his friends at the Pennridge and Souderton Senior Centers.

Mr. Longacre is survived by his two children: Dee Ann Roberts and her husband, William, of East Greenville, and Michael David Longacre and his partner, Kathy, of Quakertown; two grandchildren: Bruce Lee Mendez and Michael Andrew Longacre; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Frank Longacre, in 1991; a brother, Arthur Longacre; and four sisters: Ruth Gano, Frances Barnard, Anna Schultz, and Martha Miller.

Graveside services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Longacre’s name to the Pennridge Community Center, 146 East Main Street, Perkasie, PA 18944.
