Alexander S. Lokay

December 15, 1917 — October 22, 2007

Alexander S. Lokay, “Pop”, 89, a lifelong resident of Perkasie, passed away Monday, October 22, in his step-daughter’s home in Holland, PA after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Victoria (Senkow) Lokay for 22 years and the late Irma (Krastel) Lokay.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John and Agnes (Tutka) Lokay.

Mr. Lokay was a US Army veteran, having served during World War II.

He had been employed for 10 years as a floor molder in a North Penn foundry and had also worked 30 years for his brother Louis with Lokay Excavating.

He had been a member of the Keelersville Club, Perkasie.

Mr. Lokay enjoyed working around his property, especially in his garage where he loved to build projects. Blessed with a mechanical mind, he could build anything. If he did not have it, he built it. A licensed pilot, he built and flew his own ultra-light airplane and gyrocopter. He also liked to sit on his porch and play his accordion.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Lokay is survived by his son: Ronald A. Lokay and his wife, Mary, Orefield; daughter: Constance Berger, Allentown; a brother: Louis J. Lokay and his wife, Katherine, Perkasie; two sisters: Virginia Gross and her husband, Ray, Sellersville; and Caroline Musselman, Perkasie; stepchildren: Jospeh D. Zurybida, Feasterville; Eugene Zurybida and his wife, Dawn, Levittown; Susan Wieand and her husband, Larry, Sellersville; Victoria Hohnstock and her husband, Ervin, Southampton; Virginia Edmonds and her husband, William, Holland; Mary Lynn DeBoer, Sturgis, South Dakota; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: John, Leonard, Stanley and Joseph; and three sisters: Stella Bayer, Pauline Veneziale and Agnes Romig.

Family and friends may call Friday evening, October 26 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM in the Betty Meier Steeley Funeral Home, 87 North Main Street, Sellersville. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Doylestown Hospital Hospice, Development Office, 595 West State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
