Richard N. Lobron, of Perkasie, formerly of Philadelphia, entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 29, in Quakertown Center-Genesis Health Care, Quakertown. He was the beloved husband of Shirley A. (Freed) Lehman for 12 years and the late Joan Ann (McDade) Lobron, who died in 2000. He was 80.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Albert and Violet (Nelson) Lobron. He was a 1950 graduate of Simon Gratz High School, Philadelphia.
Mr. Lobron was a veteran of the U. S. Marines, having served during the Korean War.
Dick had been employed for 25 years as an archivist for Beneficial Savings Bank, of Philadelphia, where he was an active member of the Quarter Century Club. He had also worked as a truck driver for the General Tire and Rubber Co. and as a cab driver for Chelten Taxi, both of Philadelphia.
Richard was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Sellersville, where he had served on the Property Committee.
He had been a member of the Pennridge Community Center, of Silverdale, and the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1539, of Sellersville, and its Retired Activity Club.
An avid reader, Dick also loved to collect clocks. He enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. He had played baseball as a youth and followed the Phillies and the Eagles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Richard J. Lobron and his wife, Mary, of Berwyn; John R. Lobron and his wife, Sarah, of Philadelphia; Robert R. Lobron and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lafayette, California; Neil R. Lobron and his wife, Kristin, of Plymouth, Michigan; Joanmary Lobron, of Sellersville; Coniann Lobron-Scollon, of Hatboro; Karen Campion and her husband, Albert, of Collegeville; thirteen grandchildren: Maria; Kelsey; Paul; Louis; Irene; Fae; Valerie; Christopher; Andrew; John; Helen; Madeline; Joshua; and a great-granddaughter, Gwen.
His funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, in St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25 East Church Street, Sellersville, PA 18960. Family and friends may call at the church Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
